KEF 2005.3 Speakers with Epson EMP-TW2000 Projector
The clients brief to us was simple. To design and install a large projector screen on which they could view their Sky-HD, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC, all of this was to be placed in the living room.
A multiroom audio system was required to provide and disturibute audio around the appartment with the choice to listen to different sounds in any of the five rooms. All the rooms with television would need the ability to watch and control Sky-HD or the free digital channels bulit into the sceen. All the cabling in this project were to be concealed as much as possible.
Our Solution.
- Living Room - We installed a 7ft Slimeline240 electric screen and a Epson EMP-TW2000 projector for a top qualitiy full 1080P HD picture. All the equipment was placed in a corner of the room out of the way and connected to an Onkyo TX-SR606 Amplifer which was then placed on a Soundstyle ST105 hifi rack, but controlled by a Logitech Harmony 1000 Universal Remote . With the use of the Logitech RF Remote extender, the equipment did not need to be on show. A Sonos Zone Player 90 was also connected to provide connection to the internet radio and access to the clients own stored music collection. A PC was connected to the projector then a wireless keyboard and mouse were also installed which allowed the client to use the projector screen as a large PC monitor for surfing the internet when required.
- Master bedroom - 2 x KEF CI160.2QS ceiling speakers were installed and connected to a Sonos Zone Player 120 for access to the multiroom system, A 37" LCD television screen was wall mounted and all cables concealed.
- Bedroom 2 - 2 x KEF CI160.2QS ceiling speakers installed and connected to a Sonos Zone Player 120 for multioom audio access.
- Bedroom 3 - Installation of a 32" LCD screen to the bedroom wall with a canterlever bracket, this allowed the client the ability to move the screen to the best viewing postion. Screen has viewing access and control of Sky-HD as well as the free digital channels built into the screen.
- Dining Room - We installed a 50" Plasma screen to the wall, this screen not only has the abiliy to view Sky-HD and digital channels. It is also a second zone for playing the Xbox 360 in the Living Room. This allows the client to have a second zone to play the Xbox if the living room is occupied. Ceiling speakers were also placed in this room with a Sonos Zone Player 120, allowing a seperate another audio zone.
- Kitchen - Installed in the kichen was a 37" screen mounted to the wall with a flat wall bracket, again providing Sky-HD veiwing and control as well as digital freeview channels. A Sonos Zone Player 120 and a pair of KEF CI160.2QS ceiling speakers were also installed.
As the Sonos system is a wireless solution a lot of time and energy was saved redecorating and repairing walls. The Sonos music system, Kef CI160 ceiling speakers and large projector screen veiwing area have turned this London appartment into a home which is great for entertaining.
